Amy Christian grew up in a musical family. She has a huge passion for singing & dancing and hence was always performing with her sisters when the opportunity presented itself. In 1994, her 3 sisters, popularly known as ¡°The Christian Sisters¡± competed on the TV singing talent show called Rollin¡¯ Good Times & won the title as The Supremes of Singapore.  Amy sang & danced with her sisters on various TV entertainment programmes & other ¡®live¡¯ performances in Singapore.

Amy has been taking dance lessons ever since she was 12yrs old.  As a young girl she started with Classical Indian Dance. Ever ready and keen to learn any genre of dance, as a young adult she then studied social dancing with Shaun & Gladys.  Then in 1997, she was introduced to Lindy Hop (Swing) at Jitterbugs Swingapore.  Being a natural in the art of dance, Jitterbugs invited her, just 4 months later, to join the team to compete at the US Open National in LA, USA.

She has also studied Hip Hop, Salsa and Flamenco.  Upon discovering Line Dancing in 2001, she was hooked. She immensely enjoys both competing and performing.  Her philosophy that is by continually competing and performing, she manages to keep up with dance international standards while at the same time improve skills and techniques.  Below is a list of her accolades.

In April 2002, she came in 2nd runner up with her group called ¡°Blue Temptation¡± at the American Jamboree which was a competition held at the Suntec City, Singapore.

In May 2002, she took the Exam by The National Association Of Teachers of Dancing Ltd. ¨C (UK), by examiner Ms Peggy Payne and took the Bronze, Silver & Gold Medals with ¡°Highly Commended¡± results.

In May 2002, her group ¡°Country Fusion¡± came in Top Winner in the group category at the regional Country Line Dance Championship held in Singapore.

In July 2003, she was invited to be one of the line dancers on a video to a new National Day (Independence Day) song, sung by a well known local artiste, Stephanie Sun. It was televised repeatedly on TV, for a couple of months.

In August 2003, she competed in the United Country Western Dance Council, Asia Pacific Division (UCWDC) competition in 2 categories.  Excelling in both categories, her group ¡°Country Fusion¡± came in 1st in the group category.   She also came in 2nd runner up in the Classic Diamond Intermediate (Solo) Division.

The move from dance competitions to choreography competitions came swiftly and naturally to the talented Amy.  In her very first competition in the choreography category, she came in 1st runner up in the Choreography Competition organized by DanceFuntAsia held in K.L. (Malaysia) in June 2004 beating 14 other entries from Australia, Singapore & Malaysia.  The winning dance ¡°Never Gonna Get It!¡± was jointly choreographed by Amy and two other line dancing mates. (Judges ¨C Yvonne Anderson, Doug & Jackie, Mike Sliter, Robbie McGowan Hickie & Julie Molkner).

In July 2004, she came in 1st with her group ¡°Funky Divas¡± in the National Line Dance Competition, in Singapore. 

On 7th Nov 2004, Amy became a certified ¡°Professional Line Dance Trainer¡± after successfully completing her Trainer Accreditation Programme by the Professional Association of Line Dancers(PAL). Examiners Bill Bader & Grant Gadbois.

On 7th Nov 2004, the Country Line Dance Association of Singapore (CLDAS) held their 1st Karaoke Competition for their Line Dance Members & Amy sang, Whitney Houston¡¯s ¡°Saving All My Love¡± & walked away with the 1st prize.

On 3rd to 5th June 2005, Amy took part in the Choreography Competition at the event Dancefuntasia 2005, held in Hong Kong and came in 1st for her dance ¡°Feels So Good¡± beating 15 other regional competitors. (Judges ¨C Barry Amato, Doug & Jackie Miranda, Simon Ward & Chris Watson).

On 15th to 20th Nov 2005, Amy took part in the Choreography Competition at the event Vegas Dance Explosion in the USA, organized by Doug & Jackie Miranda & came in 2nd Runner Up for her dance ¡°Big Time!¡±. She also taught her winning dance ¡°Feels So Good¡± at the event workshops.

0n 15th January 2006, Amy was invited by the Singapore Professional Ballroom Dancer's Association, to be a Adjudicator for the Singapore Dance Championships 2006, held at Neptune Theatre.

To be an effective dance instructor, Amy strongly believes in constantly upgrading herself by attending regional dance workshops/training by international leaders in line dance.  To date, she has attended workshops facilitated by :

 Amy is always keen to research and teach the latest dances to her students.  With her flair for music coupled with her passion for dance, Amy is a successful line dance instructor who enjoys teaching students of all age groups of various levels (beginner, intermediate & advance).
